Bluehost: Bluehost is a great shared web host that is both user friendly and cost effective. It’s incredibly easy to use with 1-click automatic WordPress installation and has excellent customer service – via phone and via chat. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using Bluehost for your first site. You can also use the same hosting account for multiple domains if you plan on creating more websites.
Themeforest: Themeforest is a great place to get cost effective themes to customise the look of your website. Simply load your account with credit then buy you theme and upload it to your web host.
When it comes to building a website, there are many options available.
You could pay someone to build you a custom site, you could experiment with writing html, or you could do what over 74.6 Million Sites do, Depend on WordPress.
To try and simplify everything, think of your website as your home (well it is your businesses home online).
Think of your Domain Name as your Street address. This is how people know where you live.
Web Hosting is the land on which your home is built.
WordPress is the framework of your house.
A Theme is the design, look & colour of your home.
WordPress is a great option as it is a reliable platform with thousands of custom looks and features.
When starting out it can become confusing but there or two WordPress options:
- wordpress.com – WordPress Hosted Website (Less control)
- wordpress.org – Self Hosted Website (More Control)
wordpress.com can provide you with an all in one package, but you are very limited by your options. You will be much better in the long run to take the time to build your own website using wordpress.org on your own hosting with your own domain.
MailChimp: MailChimp is a great email Marketing service and broadcast tool. It is perfect for Newsletters, keeping customers aware of specials and auto responders.
If you have less than 2,000 subscribers (email addresses), you can send up to 12,000 emails per month absolutely free. No expiring trial, contract, or credit card required.
